Who We Are

We are researchers, educators, and facilitators – who are recognized worldwide for our expertise in helping company leaders develop the capabilities to build sustainably successful best of class organizations.  Since our founding in 1978, we have worked with organizations ranging in size from small entrepreneurships to members of the Fortune 500, as well as non-profits organizations.  We have also worked with companies in many different industries – retail, biotech, financial services, food services, entertainment, real estate development, healthcare, and many others (please see Our Clients).

Our practice has been built on the research of Dr. Eric Flamholtz, President and Founder of Management Systems, and Professor Emeritus of UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.  The key driver of Dr. Flamholtz’s research and Management Systems’ work with our clients has been answering one fundamental question:  “What can an organization do to increase its probability of long-term success?”  And, we have answered this important question by developing research-based, but practical tools and specific methodologies that you can use to enhance your own, your team’s, and your organization’s effectiveness and create sustained long-term success. 

Our tools and methodologies help you:

• Assess where you and your organization are with respect to your development (strengths and opportunities to improve);
• Identify what you need to do or do differently to continue to build your organization for the long-term; and
• Build the leadership skills and capabilities needed to develop and grow your business.

Our role is that of a coach and facilitator – providing you with data, advice (based on over 35 years of experience and research), tools, strategies for implementing tools, and education to help you continue effectively using the tools to promote your organization’s long-term success.  Accordingly, we are not a traditional consulting firm where we DO all of the work for you.  (This is one reason that we have eliminated “Consulting” from our name).

Management Systems has three categories of affiliation: Global Affiliates, Ambassadors and licensees.

Global Affiliates

Management Systems’ “Global Affiliates” are independent consultants that have been trained, licensed and certified in our firm’s conceptual frameworks and proprietary organizational and leadership development methodologies.  Our international affiliates are knowledgeable in their local markets and are able to use our proven frameworks and methods to assist their clients.

All of our affiliates have been licensed and certified to deliver the conceptual foundation of the Management Systems’ Frameworks and Methods to their clients.  This foundation includes:

• Organizational Effectiveness Surveys;

• The Organizational Assessment Tool;

• The Pyramid of Organizational Development™ and Stages of Organizational Growth.  

Some affiliates have received advanced training and are licensed and certified to deliver additional Management Systems tools such as Strategic Planning, Performance Management, specific Leadership Development modules, and Culture Management.

While our affiliates typically independently deliver our services in their local markets, we at Management Systems in the USA sometimes partner with an affiliate to jointly deliver services in the United States or in their country.

Legal Notice of Management Systems Licensee in USA and Canada:

Management Systems has entered into an agreement with Groundswell Resources, Inc to provide the licensee an exclusive, limited license to copy, use, and distribute certain materials which Management Systems provides for use in its own Consulting Business.

Groundswell Resources, Inc is not an Affiliate, Associate, Ambassador or representative of Management Systems. Management Systems remains the sole owner of the licensed materials.
